Crest moved into a larger 13,000 sq. foot facility on Jack Rabbit Road in Hilltop, Virginia Beach.
John’s wife, Susan joined Crest on a full-time basis working in the Virginia Beach office. We then had a total of 19 employees. Crest outgrew the storage facilities in Virginia Beach and rented a warehouse in Norfolk.
Crest purchased a 31,000 square foot property on Tidewater Drive. This location would serve as the Distribution Center, warehouse and cash-and-carry showroom. We celebrated 20 years in business.
John decided to expand to the Richmond area and purchased a 6,400 square foot showroom and warehouse. His daughter Carol Spicer Mahan joined Crest to manage this location.
John invited Carol’s husband Pete Mahan to join the Richmond location as an outside salesperson and to co-manage the branch.
Susan became the President of Crest Foodservice and John became CEO. Emily Spicer, John and Susan’s daughter graduated from Old Dominion University and joined Crest full time.
Crest Foodservice joined SEFA Buying Group (Supply & Equipment Foodservice Alliance).
Today we have 50 employees and are proud to still be a Family owned-and-operated business!
